Overview

TL;DAI ("the App") is a news aggregation app that provides AI-powered summaries of publicly available articles from sources such as arXiv, Reddit, GitHub, and Hacker News. Your privacy is important to us, and this policy explains how the App handles data.

Data We Do Not Collect

• No personal information (name, email, phone number, etc.)
• No user accounts or login credentials
• No device identifiers or advertising IDs
• No location data
• No usage analytics or behavioral tracking
• No cookies or similar tracking technologies

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

The App stores the following data locally on your device only:

• Fetched articles (titles, content, URLs, source metadata, publication dates)
• Your bookmarks and read/unread status
• App preferences (e.g., whether you have completed onboarding)
• Daily AI summary usage count

This data is never transmitted to any server. Uninstalling the App deletes all locally stored data.

Data Transmitted to Third-Party Services

AI Summarization

When you request an AI-generated summary of an article, the article text (not any personal data) is sent to our backend service hosted on Vercel for processing. This is solely to generate a summary of the article. No personal information is included in these requests.

Public News APIs

The App fetches publicly available content from the following sources:

• arXiv (export.arxiv.org)
• Reddit (www.reddit.com)
• GitHub (api.github.com)
• Hacker News (hacker-news.firebaseio.com)

These requests are standard HTTPS calls to public APIs. Your IP address may be visible to these services as part of normal internet traffic, but the App does not send any identifying information.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share any user data with third parties.

Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 18. We do not knowingly collect any data from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date above.

AI-Generated Content

The App uses artificial intelligence to generate article summaries. You acknowledge that:

• AI summaries are automatically generated and may not be fully accurate, complete, or up to date
• Summaries are provided for convenience and do not replace reading the original source material
• The App is not responsible for errors, omissions, or misrepresentations in AI-generated summaries
• You should verify any important information by consulting the original article

Third-Party Content

The App aggregates content from third-party sources. You acknowledge that:

• All articles, titles, and content belong to their respective authors and platforms
• The App does not claim ownership of any third-party content
• Content from user-generated platforms (such as Reddit and Hacker News) may contain opinions, inaccuracies, or material you find objectionable
• The App is not responsible for the accuracy, legality, or appropriateness of third-party content

User Responsibilities

You agree to:

• Use the App for lawful purposes only
• Respect the daily AI summary limits
• Not attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App
• Not use the App to infringe upon any third party's intellectual property rights

Privacy

• No personal data is collected
• Article text is sent to our backend service solely for AI summarization
• All user preferences and bookmarks are stored locally on your device

Limitation of Liability

The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to reliance on AI-generated summaries.

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
